Things to Consider
Your quote will vary by changing the coverage limits and deductible amounts to suit your needs. In order to get the most accurate coverage possible it may be necessary to know what a few things mean.
Bodily Injury Limits (BI)$100,000/$300,000- This would mean that you are covered for any injuries that you are responsible to pay for up to $100,000 per person and up to $300,000 per accident. You need to have enough coverage here so that if you do get sued you have enough coverage to protect any assets that you may own. People with substantial assets need to have higher BI limits
Property Damage Limit (PD)$100,000- This would mean that you are covered for any property damage that you are responsible to pay for up to $100,000.
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist (UM or UIM) $100,000/$300,000- This would mean that if you were hit by an uninsured or underinsured motorist, your insurance would cover you for any difference between the damage done to you and the effective coverage that the other driver carries on their insurance policy you would be paid up to your UM/UIM limits. Here, this would cover you for $100,000 per person in your vehicle or $300,000 per accident.
Collision - This covers your car being fixed if you are in an accident and you are at fault.
Comprehensive (Comp)- This covers you for any damage done to your vehicle that is not covered by your collision coverage. This covers you for theft, vandalism, being hit by animals, etc…
Rental Reimbursement - This would pay for a portion or all of the fees for a rental car if you had to have your car repaired by putting in a claim on your comp or collision policy.
Towing and Labor - This would cover you for a portion or all of any towing fees.
